Blue & White Dragon Bowl

Chinese Kangxi bowl with exquisite blue glaze exterior, unglazed biscuit with finely incised dragons, chasing the “flaming pearl”, white ground interior with exquisitely painted blue central medallion of stylized leaf motif, smaller medallions along the sides with floral design, interspersed is a delicate cloud pattern, dated Kangxi Period, although it has an apocryphal Ming dynasty mark of Xuande (1426-1435). The Ming dynasty mark was not used to deceive, but to pay reverence to an earlier period.
